Victory for Trump!!!! (Oh wait Don we forgot to give you the Atlantic Ocean too!)

Oh well there goes my plan to put this blog on the back burner.

I was simply surfing the internet until I was greeted by this article from Newsday and all of a sudden the light bulb went off as to why I received so many hits for my Trump on the Ocean: Analysis post.

Basically most of what that post said is now null and void by this new ruling. However it does still supply a great context for looking into this issue.

Anyways a little surprised by the “rational base” ruling that the judge applied in this case which I thought was pretty much non applicable after Kelo. (That is unless New York State has a statute that addresses this which I am unsure of). I’m taking a Civil Liberties this semester so I’m very excited to apply this new knowledge to areas outside of the classroom.

Personally,I’m not happy with the new height of the building however the thing that still boils my blood the most about this deal is the small percentage of funds being given back to the state by Trump and Carl for use of the shores of Jones Beach. As stated in my analysis Trump and Carl are paying much less for the use of public land than other owners of property on other state owned lands.
